1. Define the Desired Atmosphere
Before the session, I will ask you a few questions to understand your style. Do you prefer a soft and poetic atmosphere, a dramatic and cinematic feel, or something joyful and spontaneous?
Feel free to share your inspirations (photos, films, artists)—this will help me tailor the shoot to your vision.
2. Skincare and Well-being Before the Session
- Get a good night’s sleep the day before for a fresh look.
- Hydrate your skin in the days leading up to the shoot.
- Avoid alcohol and greasy foods to prevent dull or puffy skin.
- Relax before the session (listen to your favourite music, take deep breaths).
- Bring tissues or mattifying powder in case of shiny skin.
3. Choosing the Right Outfit
- Choose clothes that make you feel comfortable. Avoid tight clothing that may leave marks on your skin.
- Colors: Opt for natural and deep tones for a harmonious visual effect (maximum 3 colors per outfit).
- Avoid: Fluorescent colors, heavy patterns, and visible logos.
- Interesting textures: Lace, velvet, silk, thick wool, or leather capture light well and add depth to photos.
- Bring multiple outfit options if you want to switch up your look.
- Wear appropriate underwear (invisible under light clothing).
- Ensure all clothing is properly ironed!
4. Hair & Makeup
- Natural makeup is always a safe choice (or a bolder look if the theme calls for it).
- A luminous foundation and well-defined eyes work best for photos.
- Hydrate your lips to prevent visible chapping.
- Hairstyle: natural yet polished. Consider trying both tied and loose hair for variety.
5. Accessories & Personal Items
- Bring accessories that reflect your personality: a book, a musical instrument, flowers…
- Hats, scarves, gloves, sunglasses — simple elements that add dynamism.
- Avoid large watches and heavy jewelry that might steal attention.
- Plan for an umbrella in case of unpredictable weather.
6. Last Tips to Feel Comfortable in Front of the Camera
- Arrive a few minutes early to ease into the atmosphere.
- Avoid negative thoughts about your appearance—I’m here to highlight your best features!
- Trust the photographer—I will guide you throughout the session.
- Stay natural, breathe calmly, and have fun! The best photos come when you’re relaxed.
And most importantly: enjoy the moment!
This shoot is a gift you’re giving yourself.
Have a great session, and see you soon!
